Mother. Tears were shed.

During the funeral of Mateusz Morawiecki’s mother, Marta Morawiecka, the former prime minister’s sister, among others, spoke from the pulpit, not hiding her tears.

Jadwiga Morawiecka has died.
Mateusz Morawiecki announced his mother’s death on social media, sparking an outpouring of condolences. The world of politics was plunged into mourning, and numerous comments testified to the strong bond between the politician and his mother.

My mother passed away today. My teacher of life, love, goodness, and responsibility. Her heart. Her mind. Her hands. The most dreamlike mother in the world. I once said that I owe everything good in me to my mother. Today I repeat it with even greater gratitude and emotion. I owe my faith, perseverance, and pride in our homeland to her. It is thanks to my mother that I know that love is stronger than death. […] She was the silent heroine of the fight for a free Poland. For a better world. She was the mother and wife who “in dark chambers embroidered the slogan “honor and homeland” on banners.” A friend of Mrs. Marianna, Father Jerzy’s mother, and Anna Walentynowicz.

The funeral began on Saturday at 1:00 PM with Holy Mass at the Church of Our Lady on Piasek in Wrocław. Crowds of mourners, including many representatives of Polish politics, gathered to bid farewell to the deceased and pay their last respects.
