A dramatic accident occurred on Friday morning in the village of Makowa in the Podkarpacie region. Numerous rescue units were dispatched to the scene, including helicopters from the Air Ambulance Service (LPR) based in Krak\u00f3w, Kielce, and Sanok.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Circumstances of the accident in Podkarpacie
The accident took place on March 28, 2024, at approximately 10:30 AM in the village of Makowa, located in Przemy\u015bl County (Podkarpackie Voivodeship).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Preliminary findings indicate that the coach, traveling from Ar\u0142am\u00f3w, veered onto the roadside and slid into a ditch\u2014where it tipped onto its side\u2014while negotiating a curve and passing a truck, reported Aspirant Joanna Golisz of the Przemy\u015bl Municipal Police.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to RMF FM, there were 30 people on board the coach, while other reports state the number of passengers was 40.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A breathalyzer test confirmed that the driver was sober, Aspirant Golisz stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The incident was initially classified as a “mass casualty incident,” prompting immediate action from emergency services. Eleven fire brigade units, medical rescue teams, and police officers were dispatched to the scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Condition of those involved in the Makowa incident
The tourists from Bia\u0142ystok who were traveling on the coach exited the vehicle under their own power. Two individuals required medical attention at the scene, though their injuries were not serious.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Those requiring medical aid were treated on-site by paramedics and firefighters. None of the passengers required hospitalization, according to firefighters from the Provincial Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Rzesz\u00f3w.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The travelers managed to get out of the coach on their own; no one required hospitalization. The coach was carrying tourists from Bia\u0142ystok. They have all been transported to a hotel, where they are awaiting a replacement coach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Makowa is a village located near Kalwaria Pac\u0142awska, a site known for the Sanctuary of the Passion of the Lord and Our Lady of Kalwaria.
